Best UV Sunscreen Lotions
Many people think that any SPF cream will protect them from UV radiation, but they are wrong. The FDA has issued about two years ago, a detailed document regarding sun screening creams. They blew the whistle on many myth and marketing scams the cosmetic industry has been using regarding these creams.
In order to get best UV protection you must follow these guidelines:
- Look only for UVA & UVB lotions, this is more important than the SPF figure. If your cream does not protect you from UVA, its not worth applying.
- The added value of SPF figure over 50, is nonsense. SPF 100 is not double protective than SPF 50. Any thing above 50 is a marketing scam, the difference is not noticeable.
- You need to apply a lot of cream to get the promised protection! The FDA recommends 1 tea-spoon per body part: 1 for face, 1 for each arm, 2 for each leg, 2 for abdominal, 2 for back. Using a tiny pea size cream for face is useless.
- If you are swimming – use waterproof creams and reapply every 2 hours.
These are the basics, once you follow them you are better than 99% of the population.
